Supporting the Arts in
our Community since 1983
The North Kingstown Arts Council also partners with many organizations around town.  Some of these include:

North Kingstown Free Library
The Arts Council has worked in cooperation with the Friends of the North Kingstown Free Library for over 20 years to present Sunday Musicales, a series of Sunday afternoon concerts.  Another program the Arts Council funds is Rhode Island Voices, a series of Rhode Island authors reading from their works.

Smith's Castle
The Arts Council provides funding for the musical talent at many Smith's Castle events, such as the Strawberry Festival, Harvest Festival and Christmas at the Castle.

Creative Dramatics Program
The Creative Dramatics Program introduces children in grades 1 through 8 to the world of theater.  The children audition for parts, design the set and then put on the play for an audience of over 400 people.  Past productions include The Sound of Music, Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz.

Senior Center
The Arts Council partners with the Senior Center on many classes and projects. Most recently we have funded "Senior Productions" for six dramatic presentations, five plays and one musical. All have included classes and productions directed by Mari Dias.

Lafayette Band
The Arts Council has been a committed sponsor of the Lafayette Band for many years. Originally formed by the workers in the town’s Lafayette Mills, the Lafayette Band has provided continuous music making for over 125 years! The band’s current members are drawn from twelve communities in the State. The volunteer musicians enjoy bringing to residents of the area the unique opportunity to enjoy listening to a variety of wonderful live music in parks, schools, libraries, nursing homes and parades.
