Monthly Poetry Nights at the Davisville Free Library offers an opportunity for local poets of all ages and levels of experience to share their writing and receive helpful feedback. Members are also encouraged to bring poems to share and discuss from books we love. Please bring approximately 8 copies of each poem you plan to share.
Poetry Night is facilitated by Audrey Friedman, a K-3 Writing Early Interventionist in North Kingstown, RI and a member of the Executive Board of the Davisville Free Library and the Rhode Island Holocaust Museum Education Resource Center’s Conference Planning Committee. Audrey was the RI Holocaust Museum’s Teacher of the Year for 2007.
She received an MFA in Poetry from Vermont College in January '05, and has had numerous poems appear in literary journals including CQ, The Comstock Review, and the Newport Review, and the following anthologies: Regrets Only (Little Pear Press) and The Why and Later (Deep Cleveland Press), and “Letters to the World (Red Hen Press). The Premier Poets’ Press published Audrey’s chapbook “Gallery of the Surreal”. She is a contributing editor of Hunger Mountain, Vermont College’s highly regarded literary magazine. Audrey is always inspired by the creative energies that fill Davisville Free Library on Poetry Nights and delights in sharing the joy that reading and writing poetry has given her.

Poetry Night will not be meeting in the Fall 2010.
The North Kingstown Arts Council wishes to thank Audrey Friedman for facilitating this group for the past 3 years. Her creativity and methods of opening the mind have inspired many poets throughout the years.
Good luck in retirement, Audrey!
